At Chevrolet, we’re committed to continuing an over-100-year legacy of caring for our community and maintaining the fight during October Breast Cancer Awareness month and throughout the rest of the year. Wondering when breast cancer awareness month is?
Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins on Oct. 1st and ends on Oct. 31st, however, the fight against breast cancer doesn’t end in November. Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October is just a way to raise support and awareness against this deadly and widespread disease.
Did you know that:
That’s why we here at Country Chevrolet GMC have supported the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®† program for ten years in a row. That’s why together we’ve contributed over $13 million to the cause so far. And, that’s why we’re dedicated to helping make it so that no one — from survivors to those currently undergoing treatment, including the estimated 279,000 people who will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year — has to face breast cancer alone. When members of our Paducah community come together to fight this brave fight – there’s no way we can lose.
Every dollar counts when it comes to saving lives and raising breast cancer awareness. The American Cancer Society® uses your contributions to fund research, provide support services and ensure access to screening.
Donating is easy! Just follow the simple steps outlined below:
1. Choose to either donate once or allot a monthly amount to be withdrawn from your preferred account.
2. Select a pre-determined or custom amount to donate.
3. Choose whether you want to cover processing fees, dedicate your donation to a loved one in the Mayfield area, or see if your employer will match your donation.
And it’s as easy as that! Just a few minutes and you’ve changed someone’s life for the better!
Breast cancer that’s found early is easier to treat successfully. Getting regular screenings is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early – what better time to start than during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
However, screening only means testing and conducting exams on an undiagnosed person with no symptoms to see if they’re showing early signs of breast cancer. This early detection, or finding and detecting cancer cells while they’re still benign, is crucial to preventing symptoms from worsening and developing an accurate prognosis (outlook) of the disease in a loved one’s body.
