Because we care.

At Chevrolet, we’re committed to continuing an over-100-year legacy of caring for our community and maintaining the fight during October Breast Cancer Awareness month and throughout the rest of the year. Wondering when breast cancer awareness month is?

Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins on Oct. 1st and ends on Oct. 31st, however, the fight against breast cancer doesn’t end in November. Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October is just a way to raise support and awareness against this deadly and widespread disease.

Did you know that:

  • By the end of 2021, there’ll be an estimated 1,898,160 new cancer cases and 608,570 cancer deaths. That’s 5,200 unresolved cases for every death via terminal cancer.
  • Both male and female cases collectively make up 284,200 instances of breast cancer across the United States of America. 44,300 of those cases are expected to die without help from members of the Calvert City community like you.
  • California is the leading capital of cancer deaths in the United States, with a total of 61,860 as of now.

That’s why we here at Country Chevrolet GMC have supported the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®† program for ten years in a row. That’s why together we’ve contributed over $13 million to the cause so far. And, that’s why we’re dedicated to helping make it so that no one — from survivors to those currently undergoing treatment, including the estimated 279,000 people who will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year — has to face breast cancer alone. When members of our Paducah community come together to fight this brave fight – there’s no way we can lose.

iDriveFor

When we work together we can make a difference.
Each time #IDriveFor is used on Twitter or Instagram during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Chevrolet will contribute $5 to the American Cancer Society® until we reach our $220,000 goal.
Contributions commonly go towards funds for community members suffering from cancer,  October Breast Cancer Awareness Month national fundraisers, and organizations dedicated to researching and curing this deadly disease, such as:
  • Cancer Research Institute – Cancer Research publishes original opinion pieces, studies, and reviews offering significant insight and broad impact to a diverse audience. Cancer Research seeks manuscripts that offer pathobiological and translational impact to inform the personal, clinical, and societal problems posed by cancer.
  • American Association for Cancer Research – The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is the first and largest cancer research organization dedicated to accelerating the conquest of cancer.
  • National Cancer Institute – The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is the federal government’s principal agency for cancer research and training.
Every step helps save lives.
It’s easy to support the cause during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You can make a contribution, help raise breast cancer awareness, or show your support with Chevy Cares merchandise. All it takes is a virtual sign-in, a few simple steps, and a couple of minutes of your time.

Learn about early detection.

Breast cancer that’s found early is easier to treat successfully. Getting regular screenings is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early – what better time to start than during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

However, screening only means testing and conducting exams on an undiagnosed person with no symptoms to see if they’re showing early signs of breast cancer. This early detection, or finding and detecting cancer cells while they’re still benign, is crucial to preventing symptoms from worsening and developing an accurate prognosis (outlook) of the disease in a loved one’s body.
